Strong views expressed in planning consultation

Tue, 26 Jul 2011

Strong views have been expressed about the Island's planning system as the Department of Infrastructure looks to cut the amount of 'red tape' for homeowners.

Changes aim to increase the amount of work people can carry out on their homes with needing to ask for permission.

The DoI says there's been a lot of interest in a public consultation on the plans.

That ends in a few week's time.

People who still have views can find details about the consultation on the government's website.

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says parts of the current system don't make sense.[Play media file below]
