One of the key facilities for the Commonwealth Youth Games is being opened this lunchtime.

The Bowl is due to hold the opening ceremony and the rugby 7s tournament.

There were fears the ground wouldn't be available in time, as Douglas Council and the Government were originally unable to agree splitting the cost of the refurbishment.

Ownership of the Bowl was transferred solely to the Government, and the facility has undergone a £3million transformation.

The Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney will be officially opening the Bowl this lunchtime.
