Cold caller warning from police

Tue, 23 Aug 2011

The Island's police are warning of a company offering advertising to local companies in a police related publication.

The constabulary says the caller links the publication to the Manx police, but that it is nothing to do with them.

The Isle of Man Constabulary isn't currently producing any publications, and therefore isn't selling advertising.

Officers say you should never disclose financial details during a cold call.

Further advice is available from Police Headquarters, or the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading.
