Departmental memberships announced

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

All eligible members of Tynwald have been given jobs in government departments.

Allan Bell has announced the departmental memberships for politicians.

It's also been announced who's to serve on statutory boards and other government bodies, subject to Tynwald approval.

New MHK Howard Quayle is to Chair the planning committee, while another new member Alf Cannan will be chairman of both the Whitley Council Employers Side and the Civil Service Commission.

It's unusual for all politicians to be given jobs within Departments.

Mr Bell explains why this may have been the case in the past....[play clip]
