Off duty police officer finds crashed sports car

A motorist was trapped in his car hanging over a three metre drop following a collision on the Peel to Kirk Michael Coast Road early this morning.

An off-duty police officer came across the crashed Nissan 350Z at around 4.30 this morning.

The sports car had left the road, crashing into trees and hedges.

The driver had to be cut from the vehicle by fire crews.

He was taken to hospital for a check up, but fire officers say he didn't appear seriously injured.

The road was closed for several hours whilst police investigations were carried out.
