MEA works continue after nearly 2000 left without power

Tue, 29 Nov 2011

Works are continuing to fix a fault which led to nearly 2000 properties in Onchan being without power earlier this morning.

The Manx Electricity Authority says the power cut was due to a cable fault between a Douglas North and Glenside substation.

Engineers were able to restore supplies within an hour.

Power is currently being fed around the affected area whilst work to find and repair the cable is ongoing.

It's not thought there'll be any further disruption whilst the problem is fixed.

Anyone with concerns regarding their power should contact the MEA on 687 687
