Island to use heritage to attract more tourists

Tue, 31 Jan 2012

Research by Manx National Heritage shows that UK tourists don't think of the Isle of Man when planning their holiday.

The organisation says the cost of getting to the Island also puts people off visiting

It wants to raise awareness of the Island's heritage in the UK to bring in more visitors.

MNH says visitors generally don't know what the organisation does.

It wants to renew signs and its website to make it more visitor friendly.

The study found that Manx National Heritage contributes £23million to the Island's Gross Domestic Product.
