Fri, 03 Feb 2012

A politician is to ask about asbestos in the Island's schools.

Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer wants to know what the Department of Education and Children's policy is in relation to managing asbestos in schools.

He also wants to know how many of the Island's schools have asbestos in their buildings.

Inhaling asbestos fibres is known to cause a number of serious illnesses including cancers.

Education Minister Peter Karran will provide the details in next week's sitting of the House of Keys
