Power lines and tree down on Coast Road

Wed, 15 Feb 2012

A section of the Douglas to Ramsey Coast Road is closed after a tree and some electricity cables came down in Laxey overnight.

The closure is from Minorca Hill to Old Laxey Hill.

It's expected the road will re-open around 9am.

The MEA is dealing with the power cables outside the New Inn.

As a result of the closure, some bus services are being affected.

The 3 is currently being diverted over the Mountain Road, rejoining its normal route at the Manx Arms. It's currently not serving Laxey.

The 43 school service is cancelled, whilst the 44 is serving Minorca and Captain's Hill before travelling to Ramsey and heading over the Mountain Road to Douglas.

There's also an extra 44 running from Ballacannell to Douglas.
