New contractor to manage TT course safety equipment

Tue, 06 Mar 2012

A new contract to look after the safety equipment around the TT circuit has been awarded to a local construction firm.

Economic Development Minister John Shimmin was asked about the situation by Middle MHK Howard Quayle in the House of Keys today.

Marlow Construction won the contract which was put out for tender, after being held by Kissack Bros of Crosby for around 35 years.

The contractor is responsible for setting up, maintaining and managing TT course furniture including safety bales, warning signs and marshals' huts.

Mr Shimmin was asked whether the new contractor has the right experience and if the new arrangement will save money.[play media file below]
