Routes will be lost if baggage deadline isn't met, warns Airport Director

Wed, 14 Mar 2012

The Director of Ronaldsway Airport says airlines would pull out of the Isle of Man if it fails to meet a deadline to improve outgoing baggage facilities.

A project costing almost £3million must be completed by September 1st or the Island risks losing its status as a UK domestic airport.

A new EU regulation means the x-ray machines at check-in must be replaced, whilst a new conveyor belt also needs to be installed.

Tynwald will be asked to approve funding for the upgrade at this month's sitting.
