A quad bike stolen in the Crosby area was abandoned in a river.

The green Yamaha quad was taken in the early hours of yesterday morning.

By 6.45am the vehicle had been abandoned in the river at Sulby Claddaghs.

The bike belongs to a farmer who has been using it regularly for lambing.

Police are asking anyone who saw a quad bike being driven between 2.30am and 6.45 yesterday morning to contact them.

They're also keen to hear from anyone who saw someone walking in the Crosby area at around 2.00am, or in Sulby Claddaghs early yesterday morning.

It's thought the person responsible would have had wet clothing or footwear when they got home.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Headquarters.
