Government makes fresh efforts to engage with unions

The government says it's making fresh efforts to engage with unions after a previous committee failed to make progress.

The original effort was made by the last administration following the restructuring of the public sector.

The Industrial Relations Forums produced virtually nothing and fell into disrepute.

With the current economic pressures, Chief Minister Allan Bell has decided to resurrect the committee.[play media file below]
