Use Facebook and Twitter to keep in the loop over TT say police

Thu, 24 May 2012

Police are reminding the public to use the force’s social media updates to themselves in the loop over the TT fortnight.

The Isle of Man Constabulary’s Facebook page has gained over 5,000 users in the last year.

The Twitter account has over 2,000 followers.

Police say they’ll be regularly updating both social networking sites during the TT, to give people valuable information on emergency road closures and changes to racing schedules.

It’s hoped it will enable people to successfully plan their day and destination routes.

Officers say it would also help them if people could use Facebook and Twitter instead of phoning them to check on road closure details.
