Chief Minister says he had no choice but to sack Karran

The Chief Minister has said he had no choice but to sack Peter Karran from the Council of Ministers in order to be fair and consistent.

Yesterday Allan Bell announced he had taken the decision to remove the Education and Children Minister from his position as Minister.

It was after he voted against Council’s agreed policy on the future of the Island’s film industry in Tynwald.

Mr Bell said it was not a decision he had taken lightly but collective responsibility was expected of all Ministers and Departmental Members.
