Minister wants to protect public from danger of legal highs

The Health Minister says legal highs are dangerous and his department wants to prevent their use from causing serious harm.

David Anderson was speaking after the substance 'mexxy' was outlawed this week.

From 1st July it will become a Class C drug.

Last year, a teenage girl on the Island died after taking a different legal high that has since been banned.

Mr Anderson says health officials will make moves to outlaw these drugs to protect the public.[play media file below]
