MMCC 'positive' over MGP changes

Mon, 06 Aug 2012

The Manx Motorcycle Club has commented on the revised layout for the 2013 Manx Grand Prix.

The changes will see a refreshed event with a particular focus on the classic machines in an effort to establish a bigger travelling fan base.

The Department of Economic Development has cited the need for the event to realise its full potential as the main reasons for the changes.

It says it couldn't have happened without a joined up approach with the Manx Motorcycle Club, which has reacted positively to the news.

Chairman Harvey Garton says they have a clear way forward for the MGP and will be working closely with the DED to build and grow the event.

The new look festival will come into effect in 2013.

The government's Head of Motorsport Trevor Hussey says both got their work cut out for them:(play media file below)
