Unite claims DCCL's £300,000 calculations don't add up

Mon, 13 Aug 2012

Questions have been asked about how much money the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure actually needs to save.

Unite, the union which represents bus drivers, says claims that the department needs to make savings of £300,000 don’t seem to add up.

It follows a row over new terms and conditions and claims that the DCCL has suggested that drivers give up paid lunch breaks in order to help save money.

A meeting between the concerned parties is due to take place on August 20th.
