No definitive way of gauging drug and alcohol problem on Island, says DASH

Thu, 13 Sep 2012

It’s unknown how many people in the Isle of Man are drug and alcohol users according to a local help service.

The admission from the Manx drug and alcohol service DASH follows UK reports that nearly one in three children lives with a parent whose drinking is likely to cause harm to themselves and others.

The new report equates to between 3.3 million and 3.5 million children.

DASH Director Shelley Stanley says it’s hard to gauge how the Island fares in comparison.
