Tax deadline looming

Members of the public are being urged to submit their tax forms on time this year or risk a hefty penalty.

The deadline for personal tax returns is this coming Saturday.

If the Income Tax Division hasn’t received your documents by then you’ll be stung with a £100 fine. If you still haven’t submitted it by April you’ll receive a further £200 penalty.

Forms were issued in early April and can be posted or dropped into the government offices – those people with access to online services can also fill it in electronically.

Policy and business support manager Gerard Higgins says people are always late but is urging everyone to adhere to the rules:
