IT university on the horizon

A state-of-the-art IT university could be established in Douglas if enough funding is raised in time.

The Manx Education Foundation charity is behind the plan which would see the Castle Mona on Douglas promenade transformed into a world-class computer facility.

The aim is for doors to open by September 2014, but the MEF still needs to find £2.5million to make this happen.

Government has committed £5m to the project and the charity is confident the university will be established.
