The first Manxman to take charge of the police force will be sworn in today.

Gary Roberts succeeds Mike Langdon to become the Island’s new Chief Constable.

Mr Langdon retired in December after five years in the role.

It’s a historic day as Mr Roberts is also the first chief who's served in every other rank in the Isle of Man Constabulary.

He says he knows there's lots of hard work ahead:

The swearing in ceremony will take place at the Courts of Justice at 4pm.
