Public invited to find out more about eating disorders

Help is on hand for anyone suffering from an eating disorder on the Isle of Man.

The Department of Health is holding an information event to mark Eating Disorders Awareness Week at the iMuseum tonight.

It’s a chance to speak to health professionals and learn more about eating disorders and challenge stigma and stereotypes.

An NHS survey estimates that of those with a disorder 10 per cent have anorexia and 40 per cent have bulimia.

Clinical psychologist Dr Mark Skelding says the support of friends and family is crucial:
