Less than 70 comment on boundary proposals

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

A consultation on whether the Island’s political boundaries should be changed has attracted less than 70 responses.

The Boundary Review Committee asked the public to comment on plans to create 12 two-seat constituencies for the House of Keys.

Currently there is a mixture with some areas having three MHKs and others just one.

As well as the public feedback meetings were held with Tynwald members and local authorities.

The committee says the feedback has provided valuable local insight which will be taken into account before its final report goes to Tynwald.
