DEFA Minister predicts serious 'knock ons' from loss of livestock

The Island’s meat production will suffer as a result of the recent bad weather.

That’s according to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture after heavy snow saw livestock wiped out.

Hundreds of animals are thought to have died in the freezing conditions which left many sheep and cattle trapped in snow drifts.

Minister Phil Gawne says the situation will now have a knock on effect on production:
