Fri, 07 Jun 2013

A coroner has recorded a verdict of misadventure after a TT rider from Japan was killed during a supersport practice session last week.

43-year-old Yoshinari Matsushita died during an untimed Supersport practice on Monday, May 27th.

Yesterday the court heard how he lost control of his bike after clearing the Ballacrye jump just outside Ballaugh village.

It went on to hit the curb before colliding with a tree and a lamppost.

Coroner of Inquests John Needham heard evidence from marshals who were at the scene who described seeing an explosion of debris following the crash.

The Tyco Suzuki rider was killed instantly after suffering blunt force trauma including extensive head and facial injuries.

His wife attended the inquest aided by an interpreter. Coroner Needham paid tribute to her husband saying he obviously loved riding at the TT adding that the graphic designer had died doing something he loved.
