Will online gambling regulations set to be introduced by the UK Government have any implications for the Island’s booming e-gaming sector?

That was the question posed to the Economic Development Minister yesterday.

Under the new plans a point of consumption tax would be introduced and the Island would need to be granted a new licence issued under the UK Gambling Commission.

John Shimmin says he anticipates all operators will be affected by the point of consumption tax but just how heavily will remain to be seen.

However director of Celton Manx Bill Mummery is allying fears saying he doesn't anticipate any major knock on's for the industry.
