Terrorism legislation to be streamlined

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

Legislation could be streamlined to help the Island combat the financing of terrorism.

The Department of Home Affairs is looking to consolidate its powers by bringing three different laws into a single Act of Tynwald.

According to the department the proposed changes will stop the Island being a target for terrorists who are laundering money.

A draft of the new Terrorism and Other Crime Bill is currently out for public consultation – people have until July 31st to submit their feedback.
