Hundreds await A-level results

It's a nerve-wracking day today for around 400 Island students as they wait to find out their A-level results.

Many will be hoping to have got their predicted grades so that they can go on to study for a degree at university.

Although results are expected to be good this year there is help on hand for those who don't get what they expected.

Paul Craine is the co-coordinator of secondary education at the Department of Education and Children.

He says teaching staff will assist students and there are options available if they aren't accepted into their top university:
