MHK fears loss of Onchan voters

Some residents in Onchan have reacted angrily to the continued boundary changes imposed on the village.

Tynwald has approved 12 new constituencies, each represented by two MHKs with around 7,000 voters.

Onchan residents living in Howstrake and Lakeside Gardens have been placed into a larger eastern constituency.

Government is now asking for the public’s input on deciding names for new constituencies.

Onchan MHK David Quirk says the whole matter has resulted in a number of his constituents taking themselves off the electoral register:
