Tue, 22 Oct 2013

House of Keys
House of Keys

The House of Keys is sitting for the first time since the summer recess today.

One of the most important topics up for discussion will be changes to the Custody Bill, which Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson will put forward.

He wants approval to change the bill to allow prison officers to drug test inmates at Jurby Prison as there is currently no legislation in place.
During question time, eight questions have been set for oral answer and five for written.

Both the Chief Minister and Economic Development Minister will be quizzed on government’s policy for onshore wind turbines and what meetings have been held on the subject.

The Social Care Minister will be asked about timescales for local authority housing in Castletown.

Infrastructure Minister David Cretney will be asked to discuss the condition of roads and pavements in Douglas including how much it would cost to properly maintain them.
