Motorists warned not to drink and drive

Never drink and drive.

That’s the simple message being issued by the police and the Department of Infrastructure this festive season.

Although a year round concern, Christmas is typically the time more people take the risk.

Last year 16 people were charged with drink driving.

Drivers are being reminded they can still be over the limit the morning after a drinking session and that it is a myth that you can sober up more quickly by showering and drinking coffee.
