Further risk of flooding tomorrow

Tue, 31 Dec 2013

The Department of Infrastructure says more bad weather could lead to further flooding tomorrow.

The wet and windy December we're experiencing has already caused problems for property owners and for travel.
The DoI says it's on an 'amber weather warning' for tomorrow when another deluge onto ground that is already saturated could cause localised flooding.
Strong winds are also likely to cause waves and debris to wash onto exposed promenades at high tide which is at 11am.
Douglas and Gansey are the areas most at risk.
It's not certain that the New Year's Day Dip in Douglas, which is raising money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, will go ahead.
People who were planning to take part are told to check the Facebook group tomorrow for an announcement.
The dip at Castletown has now been moved to the middle harbour.
