People are being urged to try and take steps to protect their properties and possessions today.

Emergency services say they will be working together to try to mitigate potential damage.

More than 10,000 sandbags are still in place at key locations and a further 1,000 were distributed yesterday.

People have been asked to respect all road closures and to stay away from promenades and harbour areas.

All schools are open as normal.
