Cancer result waiting times halved

Cancer patients are being treated more quickly on the Isle of Man thanks to support from a cancer charity.

Patients with suspected breast or colorectal cancer have had the time they have to wait for their test results more than halved.

It’s being credited to the appointment of a histopathologist who analyses tissue and cells taken in biopsies to determine a patient’s condition.

The position, which has been funded by Macmillan, means those with suspected breast cancer are waiting on average 3.8 days instead of 10.
