Quick fix solutions to combat storm damage

The Department of Infrastructure is relying on quick fix solutions in the short term to deal with the major damage left by yesterday's storm surge.

A number of sea wall sections were demolished by the waves in Castletown, Douglas and Ramsey.

The damage has left a huge crater in the Ramsey Promenade walkway which it is feared could undermine the road.

Over 200 tones of rock armour has been poured into the hole until a more permanent solution can be found.

Operations manager Alan Hardinge says the damage is the culmination of weeks of severe weather:
