Don't fall victim to driving scam says OFT

Fri, 07 Feb 2014

People have been warned not to fall for a new driving licence scam.

The Office of Fair Trading says there have been reports of people receiving text messages or emails regarding licences which are due for renewal.

The messages claim to be from the DVLA in the UK – but this is not the case, nor are they affiliated to the Isle of Man.

One person who was contacted was asked to give over his bank and passport details for an alleged refund.

The OFT says anyone with a query about a driving licence should contact the Vehicle Licensing Office.
