Drivers told to ensure child safety

Motorists are being urged to ensure they are using the correct safety seating for children.

Those who flout the rules have been warned that they will face a fine of up to £500 if caught.

All children under the age of 12, and under 1.35metres in height, must have an appropriate child restraint fitted.

The Department of Infrastructure says failure to do this could result in serious injury if the car is involved in a collision.
