Repair work needed on Peel road after tarmac issue

Despite months of works on Peel Road part of the newly constructed highway will have to be re-laid.

The Department of Infrastructure says it’s due to a problem with the tarmac.

Bore holes need to be drilled into around 10 per cent of the road surface to rectify an issue with the foundations.

The work will be carried out by a private contractor and will be at no cost to the taxpayer.

Infrastructure Minister Laurence Skelly says he understands people’s frustrations but things need to be done properly:
