Resident left distressed over cancer email scam

Sat, 22 Mar 2014

A current email scam has left an Island resident severely distressed after they received an email suggesting they may have cancer.

The email is purporting to be from the National Institute of Clinical Excellence with news on a recent blood test and a possible cancer diagnosis.

NICE has stated that the email addresses do not originate from the body and anyone who receives a message with the subject ‘blood test results’ should delete it immediately.

People have also been advised not to click on any links or attachments, as they may carry damaging viruses.
