Tower of Refuge walk to benefit RNLI

Thousands of people are expected to walk out to the Tower of Refuge this evening.

The Douglas Development Partnership is hosting an escorted walk from 6pm onwards – to coincide with one of the lowest tides of the year.

It’s the third time it’s been organised – last year 2,800 people walked to the monument raising around £2,500.

The event – which is free - is open to everyone but children must be accompanied by an adult.

Town centre manager Michelle O’Malley says the RNLI is set to benefit from the activity:
