Teenager suffered head and spine injuries

A teenage girl who died in a car crash near Peel suffered head and spine injuries.
Lucia Porter, who was 14 and from Onchan, was killed after the car she was travelling in left the Switchback Road on March 8th.
Today the inquest into her death was opened at Douglas Courthouse.
The court heard how the schoolgirl had suffered multiple injuries but the medical cause of death is yet to be established.
Coroner of Inquests John Needham released the body so that Lucia’s funeral can now take place.
A police investigation into the matter is continuing – the inquest has been adjourned to a date to be fixed.
