TT rider died following 'severe impact'

An inquest into the death of a TT rider killed during the Supersport 1 TT race was opened today.

Robert Authur Price - known as Bob - was a 65 year old car body shop proprietor from Gloucester.

He died when he came off his bike at Ballaugh Bridge last Monday on the third lap of the four lap race, he was killed instantly following a severe impact.

Coroner John Needham officially put his death down to misadventure.

Mr Needham passed on his condolences and released the body to the family for funeral arrangements to take place.
