Planning submitted for new Douglas club

Planning has been submitted to create a new nightclub in Douglas town centre.

AM Leisure Ltd, which is based in Scotland, has submitted plans to replace the current Fiesta Havana nightclub and Slug and Lettuce café bar.

It wants to change the use of the building - with the ground floor becoming a bar and disco area called Sugar Sugar and the basement becoming The Basement Nightclub.

Plans include new seating areas, dance floors, a VIP area, DJ booths and an increased bar area - it would be open from Thursday to Sunday from 10pm to 3am and during the week during peak times.

No alterations would be made to the exterior - the planning application is currently pending consideration.
