MHK says Sefton deal was flawed from outset

Will the public of the Isle of Man still have confidence in the Economic Development Minister?

South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft doesn't think so after it emerged yesterday that a loan agreement between government and the Sefton Group was unlawful.

John Shimmin offered to resign after legal advice showed that direct loans made in 2012 and 2013 were likely to be found 'beyond powers' legally.

Speaking in Tynwald yesterday she said the whole process was flawed from the start:
