Public needs to grasp government finances

The Chief Minister says there needs to be a better understanding of how government finances work.

It's after Tynwald granted £750,000 to improve the dining room and kitchen at QEII High School - a decision that has been met by derision when major cuts to the emergency services have been announced.

Allan Bell says the two areas are completely separate - with the school project being funded by the government's capital fund.

He says it's a distinction that the public needs to grasp:
