Paralympian takes anti-hate message to local schools

Sat, 05 Jul 2014

Paralympian and Team GB athlete Adrian Derbyshire has been speaking to Island children to raise awareness of hate crime.

The Warrington sportsman visited the Island as part of a tour of Britain - he's been hand cycling around the UK making stops along the way at schools and colleges.

The fencer, who overcame a serious brain haemorrhage in 2008, was chosen for Team GB the year after and has won two gold medals and three silver.

During his trip he visited QEII High School speaking to students in year seven and eight as well as completing a lap of the Mountain Circuit on his specially adapted hand powered cycle.
