Man in court on death by dangerous driving charge

A 30-year-old man charged with causing death by dangerous driving will appear in the Pleas Court today. 

St John's man Donovan Kitching is accused of killing 62-year-old Gwen Valentine on April 26th.

She was walking along the Tholt-y-Will Road on holiday when she was struck by the car he was driving leaving her with fatal chest injuries.

Kitching is charged with five offences in total including driving whilst disqualified, without insurance and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent.

On his last appearance he was refused bail - he'll appear before Deemster Montgomerie at 10am.
