Increase in sex offence cases over last year

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

The fact that more sex offences are reported on the Island is a positive step.

That's the message from the Minister for Home Affairs, who says it's because many people were too afraid of coming forward before cases - like that of Jimmy Saville - hit the UK media.

55 reports were made to police across the spectrum of sex related incidents in 2013-2014 - up eight cases on the year before.
