Belle director full of praise for the Island

The director of 'Belle' says she's fallen for the Isle of Man and will be returning to shoot again soon.

The Island provides the backdrop for 50 per cent of the exterior locations in the film inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle.

'Dido' was the illegitimate mixed-race daughter of Admiral Sir John Lindsay - who ensured she was raised by his family as an aristocrat.

Amma Asante says that if the film wins a Golden Globe, she'll be singing the Manx National Anthem on stage.

We met her at the Isle of Man Film Festival screening of the movie - she told us how she feels about working here:
